Justin Bieber To Star In A Biopic Of His Life. Too soon?

November 30th, 2009 . by

Justin Bieber is reportedly attached to star in a movie about his life similar to 8 Mile. The website Hollywood Life quotes an industry source as saying a script is close to completion, making The Biebs the future Eminem. (Hee!).
Something tells us Justin will need an army of swagger coaches to pull off his gritty life story lest the project end up being High School Musical 5.
What do you think: too soon? What you go see it – maybe buzzed beforehand?

Ring Porn: Cynthia Rowley Puts A Bowtie On It

November 30th, 2009 . by

Here’s a shot of this awesome new bowtie ring I got at a Cynthia Rowley store near my ‘hood. Unfortunately, it is not on the friggin’ website! Please write to whomever runs the site to make them put this $8 ring on it so everyone can buy. It also comes in navy, white and turquoise. Forever 21 kind of already ripped off the rings, however, and THEY are available for $7.

Jeremy London Escaped From ‘Kidnappers’ With Acting!

November 30th, 2009 . by

We thought that troubled former teen star Jeremy London was being prudent when we went a whole week without hearing about his alleged gunpoint-induced drug consumption and kidnapping. After all, his story didn’t quite add up, he had a history of drug dependency, and even his family didn’t believe him, so perhaps he was going to just…we don’t know, stop talking about it? That’s not the case. Now Jeremy is giving exclusive interviews to People magazine about surviving his harrowing ordeal – which hey, might be true – by forcing himself to do some serious method acting.
“If I heard someone saying this, I would probably doubt it as well,” London, 37, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.
But he insists it happened, and shares how he survived. “I was acting my way through the whole thing, telling myself, ‘Just play like you are one of them,’ ” he says.

How this fits into his attempts at scaling palm trees directly after the incident, and checking himself into a hotel before calling the cops has yet to be determined.

Crushable Books: Get ‘Waxed’ With Robert Rave

November 30th, 2009 . by

Every writer has to do a bit of research when they are writing a book. In Robert Rave’s case, he got waxed.
“I did my eyebrows and I did my chest,” says Robert, author of the new book Waxed, about three sisters in different life stages who own a waxing salon. As for his brows, “I feel like I need to do that anyway. My chest, I don’t think I would do again.”
He didn’t scream “KELLY CLARKSON!!!” like Steve Carell in Knocked Up, but on a scale of 1 to 10, he’d give the chest-waxing experience a “9.”
“It’s a couple notches below getting a tattoo,” he tells Crushable. (For the record: He has a tattoo of hummingbird feeding off a flower on his inner bicep. “It symbolizes living in the moment,” he says, sheepishly.)
Currently, Robert is all writing, all the time. The former publicist-turned-writer published the buzzy first novel Spin last August; the book, an insidery glimpse of the high-octane PR industry, set off rumors it was written about Robert’s former boss, the controversial East Coast-based publicist Lizzie Grubman. At the time of publication, she issued a statement wishing him well. (Again, for the record: Robert says the book was not about Lizzie.)
A year later, he’s about to release Waxed. The book, due out Aug. 3, tells the story of siblings Carolina, an OCD-Alpha female, Anna, who’s newly divorced, and Sofia, who’s newly married but questioning her wedded bliss. There is a moving plot twist involving Anna’s son which we won’t spoil here.
Another plot thread is the special connection between women and their waxists, the keeper of hundreds of client secrets. And with more and more women getting waxed more often, the secrets multiply.
“One woman told me (her client) was getting a Brazilian bikini wax for her husband. In actuality, it was for her girlfriend,” says Robert.
Robert, who is now based in Los Angeles, is in talks to turn Waxed into a TV series. (He won’t reveal his dream cast because if an actor whom he didn’t mention gets chosen for the role, then feelings will get hurt).
OK, we’ll go! How about Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian?

‘The Choir’s’ Gareth Malone: A Real Life Will Schuester?

November 30th, 2009 . by

The Choir, a new TV show that debuts on BBC America tomorrow night, promises to fill that empty hole in your life left after the season finale of Glee. But although choirmaster Gareth Malone reminds us of a British Will Schuester, we’re not going to hold our breath for a wise-cracking foil like Sue Sylvester.
Gareth’s challenges come not from peers but from the choir groups he attempts to create. The Choir follows Gareth as he travels to different communities and schools in an effort to put together a choir group in places where there was never one before. He believes singing is a universal unifier, and we have to agree. If Glee’s bubbly positivity is infectious, then Gareth’s altruism is utterly moving. This promo almost had us close to tears:

The Choir is about more than singing, its about inspirational stories and overcoming the odds. In that way, it does channel Glee. But these are real people and real stories and not just a creation of a writer out in Hollywood. And that makes their triumphs even sweeter, don’t you think? Or maybe we’re getting caught up in the sappiness of it all. Do you think Americans are too jaded for a feel-good show like The Choir to take root?
Need more of a taste of The Choir? Here are some more clips:

Fame Wore: Ed Westwick Is Bass-y, Tracy Morgan Honors MJ At ‘Last Airbender’ Premiere

November 30th, 2009 . by

Today’s Fame Wore features Ed Westwick at a random autograph signing for Virgin Mobile, Brett Ratner in all his glory (and bad taste), and sartorial triumphs at the premieres of The Last Airbender and The Kids Are All Right.
Also! A gratuitous Tracy Morgan shot. Just because Tracy should show up at every red carpet event wearing a Michael Jackson shirt. Let’s start imposing this rule now.

Gallery: Prince Harry’s Horse Cannot Contain His Hotness!

November 30th, 2009 . by

ZOMG Prince Harry fell off his horse at Sunday’s 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in New York. And look at the people behind him: They are practically gleeful about this uncharacteristic tumble, and that girl under the umbrella behind him? The one laughing maniacally? Giving her the stinkeye from Crushable HQ.
Fortunately, he is OK. Harry – who dates on-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy – spent the day mingling and later, being shrugged off a horse who could not contain his hotness. Neither could we.
The action shots, below!

James Franco Is Going To The ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ Premiere

November 30th, 2009 . by

Robert Pattinson who? We hear James Franco will be among the red-carpet arrivals at Thursday’s Twilight: Eclipse premiere. WTF is right! In other news, this event is going to spontaneously combust with random celebritude: Other non-Twilight-actor guests include Britney Spears, Jamie Foxx, Lindsay Lohan and Ke$ha.
But back to Franco: We know he likes to “make art.” Is this a stunt — or is Franco really a Twilight fan? Confounding!

Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus Gets A TV Show, Promises ‘Awesome’ New Album

November 30th, 2009 . by

Mark Hoppus wears many hats: Blink 182 frontman, music producer, husband, father and …. TV host.
The Fuse music channel has hired the punk rocker to front his own weekly talk show, titled A Different Spin With Mark Hoppus. The series debuts in September, and will feature music news, emerging bands and musical performances, among other things that Mark is into.
“Everybody that’s exciting to us is welcome on the show,” Mark tells Crushable. “We are huge fans of music and pop culture, so we want to be about new bands that no one has heard of, we want it to be where people can learn more about their favorite bands, we want to go backstage and in the studio, segment pieces out in the field, cover festivals, whatever it is. We will have correspondents. We will have a co-host and there will be me, at the head of it all, running things with an iron fist.”
He says FUSE first broached the idea of building a show around him. “I really feel a lot of ownership of it, which is important to me to sustain interest other than just being a face on a TV show It’s like being in a band for a TV show,” he says, referring to himself as a “likable human.”
Mark — an outspoken guy with more than 1.6 million Twitter followers – reunited with Blink bandmates Travis Barker and Tom DeLong last year. They’ll tour Europe in August and then dive headfirst into recording a new album.
“It’s gonna be awesome for sure,” he says. “I don’ t know where this album’s gonna take us. I think that when we get into the studio and start playing music together it’ll find its own way. But we’re not going in with any preconceived notion of what it’s going to be.”
So what is Mark listening to these days? Local Natives. The National. LCD Soundsystem. Eminem’s Recovery album.
“The new Eminem I think is really great,” he says. “I think it’s really emotional and raw and soul baring. As an artist, I have so much respect for him being so open and honest with himself in such a public way. I mean, he puts it all out there, which I think is really inspiring.”
